I am having some trouble uploading the videos from San Diego. As soon as I can figure out the problem, I will post them.

We Have Come Full Circle
When I first came to Bolsa Grande I was faced with coaching the Frosh team. The freshmen on that team are the seniors on our varsity team. Andy, Anh, Kenny, Kevin and Peter played for me that year and we have many memories of that season. Many of those memories have to do with the team building that we did. One of those occasions occurred because Andy was sick and did not seem to be getting better. I insisted that the team go on a team outing to eat Pho. I also insisted that this Pho had to be chicken. When I am sick it is chicken soup that cures all ills. I handed Daniel Bui some money and the team walked to the nearest Pho restaurant immediately after practice. They came back a different team. Andy seemed immediately better. I thought it would be fun to come full circle and try it again. This time we aren't physically sick, but our team is sick from a lack of wins. This time I handed Kenny Tran some money and the team drove to the Pho restaurant of their choice. The photos below are photos from four years ago on that original day and the pictures from now (January 3, 2014). By the way, Kevin Mai took the third picture. He is clearly not a talented photographer. It looks just like his shot.
Our outing to Souplantation on Tuesday, November 26, was fun. Team building is very important. Last year's team was very close, especially the seniors. I would love it if this team could be as close as the team from last year. This is why we have team building activities. I initiated this one, but I hope that it will get you all to hang out a little more so you will have opportunities to build relationships and lasting memories.
Happy Birthday, Derick.
This is the jumper for Derick's recent birthday party, to which most of us were not invited. This is not a joke. You can see Derick in this picture. I dropped him off at home and could not believe my eyes. I insisted on taking a picture of this to share with the rest of you. I shouldn't be the only one who gets to see this. Derick clearly has amazing parents.
